A vacuum trap, also known as a cold trap, is a device used to condense vapors into a liquid or solid, except for permanent gases. The trap typically has a joint that allows for easy removal of the condensed material.

The trap also has serrated hose connections for side tubes, with an outer diameter of 13mm at the smallest serration and 16mm at the largest serration. The center tube hose connection is always 10mm in size, making it easy to connect to manifold bank tubes, which also have 10mm hose connections.

The purpose of the vacuum trap is to prevent unwanted vapors or gases from entering a vacuum system. When a vacuum system is in use, volatile substances can evaporate and contaminate the system, causing problems with performance or accuracy. By condensing these substances in the trap, they are prevented from entering the vacuum system and causing problems.
